TAGUIG extended its best-of-three semifinal series to a rubber match after defeating Philippine Army, 63-51, on Sunday in the 2022 Women’s National Basketball League-Pilipinas (WNBL) at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.

Camille Claro scored nine points, all in the fourth period, to allow the Lady Generals to pull away in Game Two to force a knockout game next weekend for a place in the WNBL finals.
Claro buried a three after a slim 47-46 lead, then drained another one with 3:38 left in the fourth to complete an 11-0 run by the Lady Generals.
The former De La Salle guard also buried a three in the final seconds to take a 61-51 lead to seal the victory.
Snow Penaranda had 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Gemma Miranda added 10 points for the top-seed Lady Generals, who were stunned by the Lady Battalion in Game One, 64-62.
Gilas cagers Chack Cabinbin and Janine Pontejos had 18 and 14 points apiece for the Lady Battalion, who couldn’t complete the upset over the Lady Generals, at least for Game Two.
