MIKEY Williams won't be taking flight for Strong Group Athletics (SGA) after all.
SGA head coach Charles Tiu confirmed the TNT guard's imminent exclusion from the star-laden squad that will compete in the Dubai International Basketball Championship.

"I don't think Mikey (Williams) will be part (of the team) anymore unfortunately," said Tiu. "I think there are some talks with TNT We've been waiting for his answer. He said he's still trying to get some clearance."
Williams' absence in Wednesday's open practice a week before the Dubai tourney proved to be a glaring sign of things to come.

"It's a shame because he's actually one of the first guys I reached out to. He's my number one choice to be the point guard of this team," said the concurrent College of St. Benilde coach.
'It is what it is'
Now one week away before the team flies to Dubai, Tiu stressed that if Williams ultimately won't be available for SGA, then so be it.
"It is what it is but we'll find ways to win without him, but he would've been a great addition to the team," said Tiu.
"I think it's best that we decide to play it safe and make sure he doesn't get into any trouble. After all, his PBA career is more important," he added.
