LEGAZPI CITY - Defending champion and hometown bet Sto. Domingo National High School and Jesus the Loving Shepherd of Naga arranged a finals showdown for the Seaoil-National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Bicol regional crown on Saturday.
The Legazpi-based Sto. Domingo High defeated San Felipe High School from Camarines Norte, 75-57, while Jesus the Loving Shepherd beat Sorsogon National High School, 80-61, in matches held at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region V gym to set up the title duel.
Legazpi and Naga battle on Sunday morning at the Albay Astrodome where the winner will join several top teams from all over the country in the Seaoil-NBTC National Finals set next month.
Sto. Domingo limited San Felipe to only five points in the final quarter after trailing, 51-52, entering the fourth.
One of the teams that made it to the National Finals is Chiang Kai Shek College, which defeated Hope Christian High School last weekend in the Metro Manila Basketball League finals.
