ERIDANUS Sta. Rosa and Tatak Gel Binan picked up two wins recently in continuing action of the National Basketball League-Pilipinas (NBL) Chairman’s Cup at the Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation gym in Bocaue, Bulacan.
Sta. Rosa defeated Zambales Eruption, 108-92, and Makati Circus, 104-84, to keep its unbeaten slate at 4-0.
Tatak Gel Binan also swept its two matches, defeating Makati Circus, 114-91, and Zambales Eruption, 107-95, to improve to a 3-2 win-loss record.
John Lester Maurillo played big in both games for Eridanus with 25 points and 12 rebounds in the game against Zambales, and 18 points and seven rebounds against Makati.
Jeff Disquitado had 11 points, nine rebounds, and seven rebounds for Tatak Gel in the game against Makati, while Angelo Rosale had an all-around performance, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks against Zambales.
Zambales now has a 3-4 record, while Makati remains winless in six games.
Action now goes to Camarines Sur for two playdates, with the Express playing against Taguig Generals on Friday, and Muntinlupa Chiefs on Sunday at the Fuerte Sports Complex in Pili. Both games are at 7 p.m.
Tatak Gel Binan will go up against Muntinlupa on Friday, 5 p.m., and Taguig on Sunday, 5 p.m.
