STA. Lucia Realty led form start to finish to beat Cagayan Valley, 86-66, on Saturday at the resumption of the PCBL Founders Cup at the JCSGO Gym.
The Realtors unleashed a telling 16-0 blast in the second period anchored on Kent Salado, who finished with a game-high 23 points for the Realtors. Wowie Escosio added 21 points and Mark Montilla contributed 20.
A basket by Jhaps Bautista in the 3:14 mark of the second period gave the Realtors a 34-14 lead.
The Realtors picked up back-to-back wins and improved to 5-3 for solo third. The loss dropped Cagayan to fourth place with a 4-4 card in this tournament supported by Accel, Spalding, Aquabest and Ambucore.
Nearly overshadowed by Sta. Lucia’s win was Caida Tiles’ 69-67 victory over Euro-Med. The Tile Masters snapped their two-game skid while also halting their rivals’ two-game winning run.
Caida now moved up to solo lead with a 6-2 win-loss record.
