    Sta. Lucia crushes Foton, Euro-Med cuts Jumbo down to size in PCBL basketball

    Sta. Lucia Realty hammered Foton, 71-55, to keep its twice-to-beat hopes alive in the PCBL Founders Cup even as Euro-Med continued its rise by halting Jumbo Plastic’s winning streak on Thursday night at the JCSGO Gym.

    The Realtors held Foton to only nine points in the second quarter to break the game wide open. Only three players were able to score for the Toplander during that stretch as the Realtors unloaded 22 points to take a 38-23 lead at the half.

    Jhaps Bautista finished with 17 points while Mark Montilla had 11 for the Realtors, who opened the third period with an 11-0 run to establish their biggest lead of the game, 49-23, on a basket by Bautista with 5:18 left.

    It was the fourth win in seven games for the Realtors, who forged a three-way with Cagayan Valley and Euro-Med for third to fifth place in thethis event supported by Spalding, Ambucore, Accel and Aquabest.

    Euro-Med snapped Jumbo Plastic’s five-game winning streak with a come-from-behind 81-74 triumph in the second game..

    For the second straight game, Mar Villahermosa led the charge for his team, finishing with 20 points to lead three other players in double figures for  Euro-Med, which has won back-to-back games.
