ST. CLARE College defeated Our Lady of Fatima University, 72-67, on Tuesday to wrest Game One of the 16th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (Naascu) men’s basketball tournament at the Makati Coliseum.
Jordan Rios had 15 points, while Aris Dionisio added 13 for the Saints, who moved one victory away from winning their first Naascu title since 2012.
The Saints weathered the 36-point effort of Joseph Marquez of Fatima to take first blood of the best-of-three series.
Game Two is set on Thursday, 4 p.m. at the Makati Coliseum and will be aired live on Basketball TV.
