LYCEUM drained 11 triples in the fourth period on the way to a 127-88 victory over University of Santo Tomas in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup on Monday in San Juan.
Six of those three-pointers came from Spencer Pretta, who topscored for the Pirates with 21 points to go with two rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Lyceum fired a total of 16 treys and shot 51-of-101 from the field for 50 percent.
Ralph Tansingco had 19 points, while Wilson Baltazar fired three straight triples in the payoff quarter and finished with 15 markers.
Lyceum improved to a 6-2 record in Group A while UST dropped to 1-7.
Lyceum coach Topex Robinson played down their solid play, saying they are just trying to bring the same energy every game.
"It’s really our battle. We focus on the things we have control over. It doesn’t matter who we play, we have to set a goal in mind. For us to be there against top teams, we have to be consistent," said Robinson.
Jeepy Faundo paced UST with 23 points and nine rebounds.
