Chabi Yo, currently undertaking residency after being recruited by UST from Colegio de San Lorenzo, the UCBL Season 2 champions, wasted no time making an impact as the Growling Tigers beat Diliman College, 74-68, on Wednesday at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym.
Brent Paraiso added 19 points while Sherwin Concepcion had 11 points for the Growling Tigers, who withstood the 33-point effort of Diliman College’s Adama Diakhite to finish at 2-3 at the end of the first round.
In other results, Centro Escolar University won over National University, 75-72, while Jose Rizal University beat Olivarez College, 70-65.
