SJ Belangel and Ethan Alvano earned their places on the Korean Basketball League (KBL) All-Star teams after making it to the top 20 of voting for the midseason exhibition on Jan. 19 at Busan Sajik Gymnasium.
Alvano, the reigning KBL MVP from Wonju DB Promy, finished ninth with 37,900 fan votes and 49 player votes.
He has been averaging 15.6 points, 5.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 steals this season, as Wonju currently holds a 9-10 win-loss record.
Belangel, on the other hand, is at 14th with 37,007 fan votes and 31 player votes, as he has been enjoying a breakout season in his third year in Korea.
The former Ateneo guard currently norms 13.4 points on 33-percent shooting from deep, 4.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals, as Daegu KOGAS Pegasus sits at third in the standings with an 11-8 card.
Star of All-Stars
Lee Kwan-hee of Changwon LG Sakers topped the voting with 80,987 fan votes and 55 player votes.
Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus coach Cho Dong-Hyun and Seoul SK Knights mentor Jeon Hee-Chul will serve as the coaches for the two All-Star teams after currently ranking first and second, respectively, in the team standings.
