THE Makati Super Crunch are maintaining a positive attitude heading into the resumption of the MPBL Lakan Season North Division finals despite a controversy that hounded the ballclub over the past few days.
Makati will be playing the third and final game of the division finals on Wednesday without their pre-pandemic core players due to salary disputes.
Head coach Beaujing Acot said that for now, the focus is to finish the season the best way the team can against powerhouse San Juan in the knockout game.

“Nagpapasalamat ako kay Sen. Pacquiao and also kay Boss Bong Cuevas. Kung hindi dahil sa kanila, hindi matutuloy ito,” said Acot.
Acot's assistant Henry Subido will be coaching Makati on an interim basis for the game although Acot is also in the bubble to support the team.
Makati is facing a San Juan squad that is eager to return to another championship tussle with a victory on Wednesday. Gametime is at 4 p.m. at the Subic Gymnasium.
The Knights will be coming in full-force with Mike Ayonayon returning to the ballclub for the bubble after his rookie stint with NLEX in the PBA.

Even San Juan team owner and former Senator Jinggoy Estrada joined the squad in support of their bid to win two consecutive MPBL crowns.
San Juan beat Makati, 76-60, in the series opener last year, but the Super Crunch won, 91-88, in the second game to force a rubber match that will finally be played after the MPBL was allowed to resume the tournament in a bubble.
The rubber match of the South Division finals between Basilan and Davao Occidental was postponed after a Steel player tested positive for COVID-19.
The Steel are now in quarantine and will be re-tested after seven days.
