SANTI Santillan has decided to hold off his plans of going to the pros as he puts all of his attention to the 3x3 game.
The former La Salle forward is passing up the opportunity of making the jump and rather, will dedicate his time in helping the Philippines qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
"Syempre kapag naglalaro ka sa 3x3, may chance ka na makalaban yung best of the best sa ibang bansa kaya grabe yung commitment ko dito," said Santillan, who is the third-best 3x3 player in the country.
The 6-foot-5 bruiser out of Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu follows the footsteps of his teammate Alvin Pasaol, who has earlier bared his intention to remain in the 3x3 circuit.
"Si Alvin lagi ko rin kasama, tapos lagi niya ko sinasabihan na para sa bayan naman ito eh," said Santillan, who was easily projected to fare within the first round of the upcoming PBA Draft.
With this, Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 Magiting Cup champion Wilkins Balanga retains its fearsome young guns together with ex-pros Karl Dehesa and Chris De Chavez.
The Pure are set to fly to Korea for the Jeju Challenger this weekend, as well as in the 2019 Fiba 3x3 World Tour Jeddah Masters in Saudi Arabia next week.
Aside from Balanga in the 3x3 game, Santillan is also currently playing for Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup.
