Damie Cutapay had seven of his 15 points in the second period as the Staglets seized control of the match.
Kobe Monje tried to rally the Squires as they closed in, 77-74, but the 6-foot-5 Cuntapay and fellow big man JP Timbacaya put the Staglets ahead, 80-74, with inside baskets with 1:14 left in the fourth.
“The boys showed their maturity. They overcame the rally. They found a way,” said Staglets coach Mel Banua.
