Stags lean on Rhanzelle Yong's scoring explosion to demolish visiting Perth Sharks

    Apr 8, 2015

RHANZELLE Yong scored 37 points as San Sebastian defeated Perth Shark, 72-64, to gain a share of the lead in the 1st Philippine-Australia Basketball Goodwill Invitational on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The offensive explosion of the incoming San Sebastian sophomore helped the Stags clinch their second straight win in as many outings, joining Arellano on top of the standings.

The Chiefs beat Ateneo Blue Eagles earlier in the day, 72-68, in the tournament organized by Sports Vision and supported by MVP Sports Foundation and Sports5.

Gelo Alolino had 13 points to lift National University to their first win, a 67-60 drubbing of the Sydney Amigos.

The Bullpups now have an even 1-1 record, while Perth and Sydney Amigos remain at the bottom with similar 0-2 cards.
