THE SAN Juan Knights stayed unbeaten in the Filbasket Subic Championship, beating MTrans Buracai De Laiya-Batangas City Tanduay Athletics, 83-77, on Sunday at the Subic Gym.
Alvin Abundo scored a team-high 17 points to go with eight assists, Adrian Nocum scored 16 and Larry Rodriguez added 13 apiece as the Knights moved to solo first place with a 3-0 win-loss record.
Fran Yu had an all-around performance with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists for the Athletics, who dropped to 2-1.
Davao Occidental regained its winning ways after beating Medical Depot, 72-56.
With John Wilson limited to six points, Aldwin Alday took over and scored 19 points as the Tigers improved to 2-1 after their loss to Nueva Ecija to take a share second place in the standings.
The San Juan Knights score their third win in as many games.
AICC Manila edged Burlington EOG, 95-91, to also move into joint second with Davao Occidental, MTrans, 7A Primus, and Nueva Ecija. Hesed Gabo had 18 points and seven assists for AICC.
Games resume on Tuesday with AICC, 7A Primus, and Nueva Ecija in action.
AICC faces Muntinlupa at 3:30 p.m., 7A Primus takes on Pasig-Sta. Lucia Realtors at 5:40 p.m., and Nueva Ecija battles FSD Makati Army at 7:50 p.m.
