UNIVERSITY of San Carlos defeated University of Southern Philippines Foundation, 69-55, for its second win in three games in the Cesafi men’s basketball tournament Wednesday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

The Warriors took control early with a sizzling 24-7 blast bridging the first and second periods for a 39-22 lead at halftime and never let up. They established their biggest lead of the game at 21, 45-24, after a steal and a lay-up by Kiefer Lim.
Christian Laude added 13 points, seven boards, two steals and a block while former Mapua Cardinal Nico Magat chipped in with 10 points.
USPF came within 10 points, 46-56, behind buckets by Art Camello, Jomari Sollano and Lawrence Escanilla, but Plata and Laude scored on consecutive midrange jumpers that pushed the lead back to 16 with six minutes left.
Camello finished with 15 points for USPF, which remained winless in two games.
