ALBERT Bordeos and Ivan Nelle had 18 points each as San Beda beat Arellano, 98-90, on Thursday to reach the semifinals of the 2015 Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC) Jumbo Plastic Linoleum Cup at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym.
The Red Cubs asserted their mastery of the Braves in a rematch of the NCAA juniors finals to move into the Final Four of the high school basketball tournament where they will face Chiang Kai Shek College on Saturday, 2:45 p.m. at the SGS Gym.
The Blue Dragons downed Lyceum, 78-66, with Martin Galinato tallying 19 points and Jonas Tibayan grabbing 13 rebounds.
Also moving on were De La Salle-Zobel and Hope Christian High School, who will clash in the other semifinal on Saturday.
Aljun Melecio had 28 points, seven assists, and two steals as the Junior Archers rolled past Mapua, 90-74 while Ryan Quiambao had 20 points and Harvey Pagsanjan had 18 points and 15 rebounds to lift Hope Christian High School to a 68-64 win over Xavier School.
The Final Four will be aired on a delayed basis on Sunday, 1 p.m. on Aksyon TV. The finals will be played on Sunday, also at the SGS Gym.
