SAN Beda captured its first Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup crown in three years with an 86-67 win over Adamson on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Prince Etrata finished with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists while Sam Abu Hijleh added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Red Cubs, who won their fourth title in six editions of the preseason tournament, but their first since 2013.
The crown should bode well for their campaign in Season 92 of the NCAA where the Red Cubs will be gunning for their eighth straight title.
In the battle for third place, National University beat Far Eastern University-Diliman, 86-67.
Daniel Atienza finished with 13 points and five assists to lead 17 NU players who suited up in the game.
Jhay Abarrientos finished with 15 points and nine assists for the Baby Tamaraws.
