MATTHEW Ang hit two huge triples it the fourth quarter as St. Jude Catholic School beat Jubilee Christian Academy, 63-51, in Game One of the PCYAA men’s basketball finals at the Uno High School Gym in Manila.
Ang scored eight of his 14 points in the fourth as St. Jude wound up on top after four lead changes in the final eight minutes.
Mallechi Lim scored 16 points for St. Jude.
Adrian Pe chipped in nine points and 11 rebounds, while Charles Sy had 16 rebounds and six points for SJCS, unbeaten in 10 games in the tournament.
St. Jude looks to complete a season sweep in Game Two of the series on Thursday.
Jubilee was led by Carlo Lim, who scattered 27 points, but was held to only two in the fourth. He also had 11 rebounds.
Jubilee Christian Academy won in the girls division, beating three-time defending champion Uno HighSchool, 64-34, in Game One of their own best-of-three finals series.
