AUBURN has formally made an offer to Sage Tolentino, adding to the schools wooing the 7-foot Hawaii-raised center.
The Fil-Am cager shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, saying coach Bruce Pearl has asked him to choose Auburn.
"I am humbled and honored to receive an offer from Coach Pearl and the entire Auburn family. All glory to God," he wrote.
Auburn was ranked 20th in the United States last season as it went 12-6 in SEC and 25-6 overall before the cancellation of the college season due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The school produced former NBA MVP Charles Barkley, and is also the alma mater of Chuck Person, one of the coaches who has helped the development of G League-bound Kai Sotto.
Kentucky, Kansas and Tennessee State are also recruiting the 16-year-old Tolentino,
Enlisted with East West Private, Tolentino has been honing his skills in Cincinnati, Ohio with former FEU player Cholo Anonuevo.
He posted 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks last year to steer Maryknoll High School to back-to-back State Championships in Hawaii.
