    Rookie Nambatac comes to Knights' rescue again

    LETRAN leaned on rookie Rey Nambatac to beat Lyceum, 77-72, on Friday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan.

    Nambatac had 16 points and eight rebounds to help the Knights get back on track after their defeat to University of the East on Wednesday.

    McJour Luib added 11 points and eight rebounds including 2-of-4 from beyond the three-point line for the Knights, who also averted a comeback by the Pirates late in the fourth quarter.

    The Pirates were able to cut Letran’s lead to three points, 75-72, on a basket by Vergel Evangelista but by then, there was only three seconds left on the clock.

    Franz Dysam added 10 points including a triple that allowed the Knights to post a 73-58 advantage in the fourth.

    Lyceum remained winless after four games.
