FAR Eastern University seized control early and cruised to a 99-84 win over Mapua in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup on Sunday in San Juan.
Fil-Canadian RJ Ramirez starred anew for the Tamaraws with 18 points as the team scored their fourth win in as many games.
Arvin Tolentino hit four three-pointers on the way to 17 points, while Jasper Parker had 14 points, five rebounds, and six assists.
Despite the victory, FEU coach Olsen Racela rued his team's defensive lapses, saying they still have to work on that aspect of the game if they are to compete against stronger teams in the tournament.
"We gave up a lot so still, our focus should be defense," Racela said. "Don’t get me wrong ha, I’m happy with our offense."

Cedric Pelayo and Laurence Victoria combined for 26 markers.
