JUMBO Plastic Linoleum leads 10 teams vying for the title in the Republica Cup basketball tournament which kicks off on Saturday at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.
The Giants, recently crowned champions of the Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League (PCBL) Founders Cup, will compete against PBA D-League and collegiate teams in the three-week tournament.
Joining Jumbo Plastic in Group A are Sta. Lucia Realty, AMA Online Education, Arellano University, and Sea Lions-Alpha Dogs, while Foton Toplander, Hobe-FEU-NMRF, Mapua Institute of Technology, Malolos Mighty, and National University battle it out in Group B.
The Arellano Chiefs face Sea Lions-Alpha Dogs to start hostilities at 5 p.m. while the Sta. Lucia Realtors take on AMA Online Education at 7:15 p.m.
Games will be played January 16-19, 24-28, January 31 to February 2, and February 4.
