JERRAMY King and Mark Romero had 22 points each as AMA Online Education beat Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, 97-73, on Monday in the Republica Cup 2016 basketball tournament at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.
King, who was drafted in the fourth round by NLEX in last year’s PBA draft, and Romero, a pick by Kia in the 2014 draft, led the way for AMA, which took a 16-0 lead and cruised past the PCBL Founders Cup champion.
It was AMA's second win in as many games for the lead in Group A of the tournament that coincides with Malolos’ Fiesta Repubika.
Jeff Viernes had 11 points for Jumbo Plastic Linoleum but the Giants failed to find their form after a big deficit early in the game.
Sea Lions-Alpha Dogs, meanwhile, defeated Sta. Lucia Realty, 81-78, for its first win in two games.
Paolo Balagtas had 16 points while Jimmy Brown added 15 for the Sea Lions-Alpha Dogs, a team of players from Bulacan.
Raymund Ilagan had 17 points while Jett Vidal finished with 14 for the Realtors, who lost for the second straight game.
