SAN Sebastian put on a dominant display in its debut in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League NCR qualifiers as it blasted a dangerous PATTS side, 90-67, on Tuesday at the JRU gym.
The Stags showed no sign of rust, using a balanced attack to send the Seahorses to their second loss in as many matches.
Renzo Navarro and JM Calma spearheaded the second-quarter attack for the NCAA semifinalists, where they turned a two-point lead to a commanding 15 point spread at the half.
"Dito ko makikita yung full line-up namin. Ito yung gauge ng lahat ng collegiate teams, malaking bagay talaha na magpakita kami ng maganda," said San Sebastian head coach Egay Macaraya.
Navarro paced the Stags with 17 points, making 5 of 7 shots from beyond the arc, to go with five assists and four steals.
Calma had a double-double of 16 points and 10 boards in less than 20 minutes of action while Michael Calisaan had a quiet 10 points and seven boards.
It was a disappointing finish for the ISAA champions Seahorses who looked impressive in their opening match against the Maroons.
Norman Torreno led the Seahorses with 15 points and six boards.
The Stags will face the Fighting Maroons for the top spot of Group B. The winner will face the top seed of Group A in a knockout match for the final qualifying berth of the tournament for NCR.
