DILIMAN College tries to get its title bid back on track when it faces Philippine Christian University-Dasmarinas on Thursday in the Universities and Colleges Basketball league Season 3 at the Olivarez College gym in Paranaque City.
Its status as one of the title favorites badly damaged by a 88-61 defeat to Centro Escolar University last week, Diliman coach Rensy Bajar is expecting a much better performance from the Dragons when they clash with the Dolphins at 12 p.m.
They kicked off the season with a 55-point win over St. Joseph, but against the more experienced Scorpions, the Blue Dragons struggled, shooting poorly from the field.
Bajar is also hoping to see a smart but solid defense from his players since the Dolphins are no easy customers.
“We have to be extra careful and play with a sense of urgency this time. We can’t afford to relax,” said Bajar.
The St. Joseph dribblers battle the LPU Pirates at 2 p.m. hoping to nail their first win after dropping their first two games.
St. Joseph is the only team in the league backed CafeFrance, Hapee Toothpaste, Gerry’s Grill, MaxSell Power Tool, Yakult, TanduayAthletics, Toyota Motor Philippines and Tough Mama Home and Kitchen Appliances, which is yet to win.
The Pirates are on a two-game skid after winning their opening game.
