FIL-AMERICAN Remy Martin's NCAA tournament proved short-lived as Arizona State lost a close one to Syracuse, 60-56, in the Midwest Regional in Dayton, Ohio.
The Sun Devils led, 49-42, with seven minutes left but saw the Orange mount a rally to advance to the first round of March Madness where they gained the 11th seed in the region.
Martin, a member of the Gilas Pilipinas pool for the 2023 Fiba Basketball World Cup, went scoreless but grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out four assists.
He was the co-Sixth Man Player of the Year awardee in the Pac-12 Conference this season.
Oshae Brissett had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Orange, who only played until the second round in the ACC tournament.
