MARK Guillen and Marvie Bustos scored big baskets for the defending champion Olivarez College Sea Lions, who crushed the La Salle Dasmarinas Patriots, 78-59, on Wednesday at the Rizal Technological University gymnasium in Mandaluyong.
Guillen and Bustos hit 12 and 11 points, respectively, as they led the Sea Lions to their third straight win in the 12th Universities and Colleges Athletic Association (UCAA) men’s basketball tournament.
Bustos struck hardest in the third quarter of their morning game, combining for 11 points with Jay Alquisalas when the Sea Lions broke away from a 34-31 halftime to lead by 11 at the end of the third period, 57-46.
Patrick Rabe made 14 points for the Patriots, who absorbed their second loss in three outings.
