MIKE Nzeusseu scored the go-ahead basket with under two minutes to go as Lyceum hacked out a thrilling 69-65 win over Ateneo in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Elite Eight on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
The 6-5 Nzeusseu completed a three-point play off Raffy Verano with a minute and 54 left to break the game's final deadlock at 62-all, capping a double-double performance of 19 points and 21 rebounds.
CJ Perez padded the Pirates' lead to five with two foul shots with 19 seconds left, enough a lead to cushion a late Adrian Wong three-pointer as Lyceum completed a sweep of its elims group.
The win enabled the Pirates to draw San Sebastian in the semifinals and left the Blue Eagles to fight San Beda in a battle of reigning collegiate champions.
Perez also finished with 19 points to go along with five boards and four steals for the Pirates while JC Marcelino chipped in 15.
Wong was the lone Blue Eagle in double digits with 10 points.
