SAN BEDA and National University will battle for the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup title after hurdling their respective rivals in the semifinals.
The NCAA champion Red Cubs leaned on a 30-8 start to the first period to beat the Ateneo Blue Eaglets, 89-58, on Monday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Bullpups, on the other hand, defeated the San Sebastian Staglets, 80-75.
The one-game championship will be played on June 12 at The Arena in San Juan.
Jess Diputado had 16 points, while Mike Abatayo and Ranbill Tongco had 14 points each for the Red Cubs, while Thirdy Ravena had a 21-point outing for the Blue Eaglets.
Hubert Cani chipped in 22 points for the Bullpups, who also got 14 points from John Cauilan and 12 points from Lorenzo Baitan.
Meanwhile, the women’s semifinals will be played on Wednesday, with Far Eastern University battling Centro Escolar University at 9 a.m. and De La Salle taking on University of Santo Tomas at 11 a.m.
