EXTREME 97 San Beda and Maynilad Cebu clinched spots in the semifinal round after finishing the elimination round unbeaten in the Seaoil National Basketball Training Center National High School Championships.
The Red Cubs, the NCAA titlist, defeated 4T Power Faith Academy, 96-63, on Saturday at the Philsports Arena to take the top spot in Group B.
Meanwhile, Maynilad Cebu, represented by Cesafi champions Ateneo de Cebu-Sacred Heart School, won two matches in convincing fashion on Saturday, beating Philex Davao, 77-61, and NLEX La Union, 102-49.
The Red Cubs and the Magis Eagles finished the eliminations with 3-0 marks. The semifinal round is set Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Andre Caracut had 17 points while fellow Philippine Youth team member Rev Diputado added 16 points for the Red Cubs.
Dawn Ochea topscored for the Cebuanos with 15 points, while grabbing nine rebounds.
