THE only open international 3x3 basketball tournament in the world is set to make its return to the Philippines as Red Bull Reign holds its second edition with four playdates next month.
Inviting the world’s top 3x3 ballers to battle it out for a chance to compete in the World Finals in Washington, DC, USA, Red Bull hosts its signature basketball tournament again in Manila, one of several venues where the event will take place across the globe.
The tournament is open to players aged 16 and above with teams of three plus one reserve. Each team must have at least two Filipinos and all need to have their passports for the potential to travel to the US.
Manila Qualifier A is set on June 16 at Buendia Food by the Court, while, Manila Qualifier B will take place on June 23 at Taft Food by the Court. The Last Chance Qualifier is on June 30 at Taft Food by the Court where the Finals will be held on the same day.
The second edition of Red Bull Reign will be under the supervision of tournament director and PBA legend Vince Hizon and sports consultant Al delos Reyes.
The Bull Squad, consisted of Filipino-Canadian PBA hopefuls Clay Crellin and Glenn Gravengard, Kitt Paolo Balmori, and team captain Obinna Ezeike, ruled the inaugural edition after defeating Team Santa Rosa in the finals, 27-20, to represent the Philippines in the World Finals in Washington DC.
“We were hungry,” said Gravengard. “We wanted it more.”
