Red Bull Half Court returns with the holding of qualifying rounds in Cebu, Davao, and Manila.
The event is expected to draw the country’s top 3-on-3 streetball players to compete for a chance to represent the country in the world finals set against the iconic backdrop of New York City, known as the mecca of streetball.
Registration is underway with the first qualifying event set in Cebu on March 9.
On April 6, it’s Davao’s turn to hold the qualifying followed by Manila on April 13. The national finals is slated on April 27.
The world finals will be held in October in New York City.
Adhering to FIBA rules, the tournament will kick off with a pool play style in the first round, transitioning to a knockout format in subsequent rounds.
Red Bull Half Court brings a distinctive twist to the game with the "Own the Court Score." This unique feature rewards the team in each group that accumulates the highest total points across the games. Teams with the top scores will progress for an opportunity to secure a place in the national finals.
Eric Altamirano, Red Bull Half Court tournament commissioner, said: "Basketball is an integral part of Filipino culture, and we believe this tournament will provide a platform for young and aspiring ballers to showcase their skills and passion for the game. We are especially excited to expand this year with qualifiers in Davao."
Open to both men and women aged 18 and above, each participating team must consist of four players, with the fourth serving as a reserve or backup.
Registration is entirely free, and interested participants can sign up via this link: http://redbull.com/halfcourtph.
