CHICAGO - After carrying the UP on his back during the Fighting Maroons' UAAP Season 87 title run last December, Quentin Millora-Brown, thank goodness, didn't have to see a chiropractor.
But there are plenty of other things the 6-foot-10, 245-lb. center has been seeing a lot lately.
Contract offers.
Per multiple sources, the Abra Weavers of the MPBL are trying to lure the former US NCAA player with an P800,000 a month offer for the upcoming season of the Manny Pacquiao-founded league.

Abra isn't the only team trying to weave QMB in their line-up. The Quezon Huskers, I am told, also have a P600,000 a month manna on the table. It's a little light but the deal allegedly comes with a whopping P1 million signing bonus.
Shocking but not surprising.
Bigs don't grow on trees and the MPBL, where Greg Slaughter collected a reported seven-figure salary a month last season for the Metro Stars, always has a lucrative market for a nimble rim protector of QMB's skill-set.
WILL THE FORMER VANDERBILT STAR TAKE THE PLUNGE?
Not so fast. His camp is mulling the offers, which also include an exceedingly generous one from Spain.
"We will know by February which direction QMB is going," a person familiar with the situation told me.
How about the PBA draft?
"It's still on our radar," a source said but the pay is discouraging considering that the top picks don't earn more than P420,000 a month. Also, the idea of playing for Blackwater or Terrafirma is mortifying for a winner such as QMB.
Meanwhile, QMB is eager to play for Gilas and honor his Filipino heritage. His reps have submitted the required paperwork but SBP seems to be dragging its feet, like wearing dress shoes on a snowy, wintry day.
PR NIGHTMARE.
The University of the East released a statement today praising former head coach Jack Santiago and thanking him for what was described as "the most breathtaking UE Red Warriors' Men's Basketball Season in recent memory."
Given that UE chose not to renew Santiago's contract that expired last January 1, technically firing him, the schools' tediously long statement was so cringey, a bowl of words salad that had little nutrients for the brain.
Insincere reverence is the enemy of good faith. But hey, people who only read menus might like UE's weird form of flattery.

As someone who worked as PR for a governor and a mayor back in the day, here's a piece of advice to UE.
If you must fire an employee, tell him directly before he gets winds of it on social media. And when you craft a statement, it should be no more than a paragraph long. Thank him for his services and wish him well.
And oh, by the way, as you scramble for a replacement head coach, you might want to try coach Chris Daleo, who has a wealth of experience in the US and overseas. He could be the second coming of Tab Baldwin and he likes red.
There's no harm in calling, right?
