PHILIPPINE basketball is off the table at the moment for Quentin Millora-Brown.
With his agent already having publicized his intent to skip the upcoming PBA Draft, QMB likewise confirmed that his prospects of playing for Gilas Pilipinas are looking dim - right now, at the very least.

"Right now, I'm classified as naturalized. There's an appeal in the works, so we'll see what happens," he told reporters when he visited the Playtime Filoil Centre in San Juan to watch alma mater University of the Philippines do battle with National U in the Playtime Cares 18th Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup final on Sunday.

Of course, the Philippine national team's current rotation of naturalized players features Justin Brownlee, Ange Kouame, and even Jordan Clarkson. As such, Millora-Brown acknowledges that he wouldn't be top of mind whenever Gilas would consider one player to backstop its locals in FIBA-sanctioned events.
That doesn't mean, though, that the door for wearing the flag has been closed and locked.
As he put it, "Obviously, I'm not a lawyer, so I can't speak on the details. But I've been told we have a pretty good position to get the local status."
From Macau to Europe
For now, QMB's eyes are both set on suiting up for the Macau Black Bears - and getting as much as he can from the experience.
The 6-foot-10 modern big, though, detailed that his contract with the club team only runs until the end of the month, just in time to be there opposite Gilas in the two teams' friendly on Monday at Araneta Coliseum.

After that, Millora-Brown shared plans are already in motion for a stint in Europe, the specifics of which are still being finalized.
"I'm looking at signing a contract in Europe, but I just have to wait before this first contract (with Macau) ends," he said.

What's for sure is that the Filipino-American is not taking his talents to the PBA - not just yet, anyway.
"As of right now, my agent and I decided it's not a path we're going for," he said.
"We'll see what happens. Obviously, things change, but for the foreseeable future, the best path for me is looking at Europe and other options just to advance my career as far as I can."
