PUREFOODS salvaged third place in the UNTV Cup PBA Legends Faceoff after defeating Ginebra, 98-75, on Friday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Roger Yap had 20 points, while Alvin Patrimonio had a double-double after finishing with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Hotdogs, who finished the game with a 29-6 run to take their lone victory in the legends tournament.
Tonyboy Espinosa had 14 points and started the run with a three-point play to break a 69-69 deadlock. Purefoods later scored 21 unanswered points to finish off Ginebra.
Bennett Palad had 15 points, Michael Orquillas had 14 points, and Bal David had 11 points and seven rebounds for the shorthanded Ginebra squad, which missed Jayjay Helterbrand and Marlou Aquino due to their games in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
