Prince Rivero had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Athletics, who seized control with an eight-point run, 78-72, en route to their third straight win.
Batangas improved to 12-5, fourth in the South division behind Davao Occidental (15-2), Bacoor (15-3) and General Santos City (13-6).
Moncrief Rogado added 14 points and Adrian Santos and Ryusei Koga scored 12 each for Batangas.

The Bataan Risers and the Makati Super Crunch cruised to victories.
The Risers clobbered the Soccsksargen Marlins, 102-71, while the Super Crunch routed the Mindoro Tamaraws, 97-65.
With their fourth straight win, the Super Crunch climbed to 14-3 in the North division, while the Risers have won three in a row for a 10-8 record.
The Marlins are winless in 17 games.
John Bryon Villarias led the Risers with 24 points, Reed Juntilla scored 18, James Darwin Castro had 17 points and Bernie Bregondo had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
