Primero Uno-Laguna defeated BBE Black, 18-16, in overtime after Shin Manacsa buried a two-pointer to end their last 16 match-up, while Frontrow X of Jerwin Gaco and JR Cawaling came away with a 16-13 victory over Diamond Knights Trace.
The top team gets US$3,000 (around P150,000) and a berth in the SINA 3x3 Elite League 2019 tournament in Beijing in December.
Yulz TMT also advanced to the next round as the Adrian Celada-led squad beat Caloocan 1, 22-11, while Zamboanga MLV, being led by Das Esa, defeated Same Energy, 19-12.
MNL A won over Soaring Eagle, 17-14, as Terrano Enterprises beat Hassel, 19-14, to also reach the quarterfinals. Titan 8 defeated MNL B, 21-14, while Go for Gold Sealions edged United Nations 2.0, 16-14, to also clinch a spot in the next round of the competition with Jerry Codinera as commissioner and Mediapro Asia and SINA Sports as organizers.
