    PNP, Malacanang put unblemished slates at stake against separate foes in UNTV Cup

    Former PBA player Arnold Gamboa hopes to lead Commission on Audit to its first win when it tackles fellow winless GSIS.

    Standings:

    Group A – PNP (3-0), AFP (3-0), Senate (2-1), BFP (1-2), DOH (1-2), GSIS (0-2), COA (0-3).

    Group B – Malacanang (3-0), NHA (3-1), Judiciary (2-1), DA (2-1), DOJ (1-2), Ombudsman (0-3), PDEA (0-3).

    DEFENDING champion Philippine National Police (PNP) and Malacanang-Philippine Sports Commission hope to extend their winning streaks to four games when they go up against separate rivals in the 6th UNTV Cup at the Pasig City Sports Center.

    The PNP Responders collide with the Senate Defenders at 5 p.m. in Group A while the Malacanang-PSC Kamao take on the Department of Agriculture Food Masters at 3:30 p.m. in Group B.

    Both PNP and Malacanang-PSC are leading their respective groups with similar 3-0 records in the tournament offering P4 million to the chosen charity of the champion team.

    The charity picked by runner-up in the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon for the country’s public servants shall receive P2 million.

    Out to lead the reigning champions are former University of the East player Olan Omiping and Harold Sta. Cruz while Eric dela Cuesta and Christian Luannzon will spearhead Kamao’s drive for win No. 4.

    In the other Group A match, Commission on Audit tries to barge into the win-column when it takes on GSIS at 2 p.m.

    The COA Enablers and the GSIS Furies are looking to notch their first win in the annual tournament with the former toting a 0-3 card while the latter have a 0-2 record.
