THE Pinoy Youth Dreamers (PYD) will compete in the 8th Asia Pacific Basketball Youth Cup to be held in Singapore from October 24 to 27.
The group will have three teams in the tournament where they will see action in the 13-under, 15-under, and 18-under.
The PYD is the defending champion in the 15-under, while its 18-under squad will look to improve on its silver medal finish also last year.
The 13-under team, meanwhile, will be competing for the first time.
PYD founder and director Beaujing Acot said the players have come from across the country including Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, and Tacloban.
“For three straight years, we joined the Asia Pacific Basketball Youth Cup to give our youth an equal chance of gaining exposure and learning while also embracing different cultures,” said Acot.
“We trained the players for free and we make sure that they get the best training in preparation for the international tournament,” added Acot, whose program is now on its seventh year.
Teams from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Singapore have confirmed their participation in different age group tournaments.
