WHEN towering Yao Ming visits the country next week, guess who will be there to welcome him?

No less than our Vice-President Jejomar Binay.

The courtesy call on the Vice-President by the visiting Shanghai Sharks on Monday at 10 a.m. should be another delightful opportunity for photographers as the Chinese pro team's 7-foot-6 owner meets the second highest official of the land, who also happens to stand around 5-2.

The courtesy call, part of the Sharks' itinerary during their six-day visit for the Philippines-China Friendship Games, takes place a few hours before the Sharks play the Gilas Pilipinas team at the Mall of Asia Arena in an exhibition match.

The Sharks will be in town for a two-game series, taking on a PBA selection on Tuesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum a day after the Gilas match.

The Shark are arriving in the country on Friday night, but Yao will be planing in the next day while the team holds practices at the Philsports Arena in preparation for their two exhibition matches.
