PBA teams Rain or Shine, Phoenix, and Converge, and reigning UAAP champion La Salle will be competing in the 39th Kadyawan Invitational Basketball Tournament at the USEP Gym in Davao City.
The Elasto Painters, Fuelmasters, and FiberXers will have the opportunity to build up for the upcoming PBA 49th Season in the pocket tournament that will start on Thursday.
Phoenix goes up against Converge at 5 p.m., while Rain or Shine will also open the tournament against La Salle at 7 p.m.

The rest of the schedule will see Phoenix against Rain or Shine, and Converge against La Salle on Friday, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively, and La Salle versus Phoenix, and Rain or Shine versus Converge on Saturday, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
The championship and battle-for-third will be held on Sunday.
The PBA teams are expected to play a full line-up including their respective imports with the opening of the 49th Season just weeks away.
Meanwhile, Gilas Pilipinas player and reigning UAAP MVP Kevin Quiambao is also scheduled to see action for La Salle in the annual tournament held weeks before the Kadyawan Festival.
Phoenix coach Jamike Jarin said the tournament is a perfect opportunity to bond and build camaraderie ahead of the PBA season.
“It is perfect kasi we play four straight games with our import. This is a great experience for all of us. Team bonding na rin ‘yan with the import and the rookies,” said Jarin, whose team has signed Jayveous McKinnis as their import.
