THE WNBL will honor persons who have made valuable contributions to Philippine women's basketball, forming the ‘Legends Circle.’
The league on Wednesday announced that it will pay tribute to the legends of women’s basketball in the country through its own Hall of Fame ceremony to be held during the opening of the 2021 season of the league.
The WNBL said it has a list of eight players, coaches, and officials, with the honors committee chaired by WNBL ambassador Kiefer Ravena finalizing the list.
“This is our way to honor the legends whose passion paved the way for the younger generation to pursue the sport we all love,” said WNBL executive vice president Rhose Montreal in a statement.
Meanwhile, the league is drafting the tournament rules and guidelines through the competition committee chairman Edward Aquino and vice chairman Haydee Ong.
The league through its safeguarding committee chairman Krizanne Ty is also formulating policies for the safety of the players on and off the court.
The WNBL will also unveil details of its 1-on-1 league this weekend.
The WNBL recently formed an executive committee with Allana Lim, Angeli Gloriani, Raiza Palmera-Dy, Marichu Bacaro, Fille Cainglet, Adrienne Lualhati, Ays Hufanda, Krizanne Ty, Karla Manuel and Carol Sangalang installed to represent the players.
