PH U-17 team, Santo Tomas lead cast of 16 seeing action in Fr. Martin Cup

Coach Mike Jarin and his PH U-17 team see action in the 20th Fr Martin Cup as part of their preparation for the FIBA-World U-17 Championship.

UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas leads the cast of 16 teams confirmed so far of seeing action in the coming 20th Fr. Martin Summer Cup college tournament starting on April 5.

The Growling Tigers will also be joined by the Philippine Under-17 squad that will compete in the FIBA-World U17 Championship set this August in Dubai.

The meet serves as the first tournament the Tigers will be joining under new coach Segundo’ Bong Dela Cruz after recently taking over the place vacated by Pido Jarencio.

Also playing in the tournament are Ateneo-B Blue Eagles, St. Claire College, Faith-Batangas, Centro Escolar University-Malolos, Arellano University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Enderun College, Far Eastern University, Lyceum Philippines University.

Completing the 16-team cast are Polytechnic University of the Philippines, San Sebastian College-A, San Sebastian College-B, San Beda, and Metropolitan College.

Meanwhile, reigning UAAP champion National University and NCAA titlist San Beda are part of the 10 teams entered in the high school division.

Other juniors teams competing include Lyceum-A, Lyceum-B, San Sebastian-A, EAC-ICA, UST, Chiang Kai Shek, Adamson, and San Sebastian-B.
