THE Philippines fell short in its campaign in the inaugural Fiba-Asia 3x3 Championships in Doha, Qatar, losing to Jordan, 10-15, in the quarterfinal round.
The Nationals, represented by the Blackwater Sports team that finished second in the PBA D-League 3x3 tournament, lost a close match against Jordan - the top-seeded team in Group D.
Blackwater Sports, which had Kevin Ferrer, Gio Ciriacruz, Robby Celiz, and Bacon Austria in its lineup, finished second in Group A after winning two of their three games in the preliminaries.
The Elite defeated Mongolia, 21-13, and Sri Lanka, 17-13, after bowing to Qatar Maroon, 11-21, in their first game.
Qatar Maroon went on to win the maiden edition of the tournament, beating Saudi Arabia, 19-17 in the finals.
