PERLAS Pilipinas begins the process of recruiting potential members of the national team with a tryout on August 2, national head coach Patrick Aquino said on Sunday.
The tryout will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Prime Mobility Sports and Recreation Center located at 71 Simoun Street corner Banawe Street, Barangay Sto. Domingo, Quezon City.
Since Perlas will no longer have any tournaments this year, Aquino said the tryouts are for the national team that will be seeing action in 2019.
“This will be for next year’s team. We are forming the team early since there will no longer be any tournaments for 2018,” Aquino said.
Aquino said the practices will be held every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Philippine national women’s basketball team competed in the Fiba 3x3 World Cup last month. They missed the knockout round but gained the adulation of Filipino basketball fans with their play.
