LAS VEGAS - Zavier Lucero finally reached a deal with Magnolia, paving the way for his return to the Hotshots in time for Season 50 of the PBA.
Team manager Alvin Patrimonio confirmed to SPIN.ph the signing of the 6-foot-7 Lucero who agreed to a two-year deal on Saturday morning (Manila time).
"We signed him already earlier in practice para magkaroon na rin ng peace of mind yung bata," said Patrimonio, the PBA legend and four-time MVP, over the phone.

Patrimonio and coach LA Tenorio were present during the contract signing, while Lucero was with agent Marvin Espiritu of EMBM (Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management).
At the same time, the Magnolia team manager praised the former University of the Philippines stalwart for being professional enough as he continued to practice with the Hotshots despite in the middle of his contract negotiations.
"He still practices with the team kahit na nagne-negotiations pa kami (sa contract niya)," Patrmonio added.
Lucero was acquired by Magnolia last season in a trade with Northport that involved Jio Jalalon and big man Abu Tratter.
He was the no. 5 overall pick by Northport in the Season 48 draft.
