RAIN or Shine coach Yeng Guiao expects a challenging campaign in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup, what with them having to face defending champion Barangay Ginebra twice in the elimination round.
The Elasto Painters are in Group B for the tournament wherein teams will play their groupmates twice during the elims.

Aside from the Elasto Painters and Gin Kings, Group B features Magnolia, Meralco, Phoenix Super LPG, and Blackwater, which will be RoS' first opponent on Saturday at the Ynares Center-Montalban.
“Ten games ‘yung lalaruin namin, ‘yung kabilang group, 12 games. So tingin ko, wala kang pwedeng sabihin na itong larong ito, kalaban namin ang 'X team' na ito, panalo na ito,” he said.
“Paghihirapan mo lahat ng sampung laro mo dito sa group namin.”
RoS' first hurdle
Among those tough assignments are the Bossing, who wound up with a 2-10 standing last conference.
Rain or Shine’s previous game against Blackwater saw a complete domination by the former of the latter, 151-95, a 56-point victory that became the most lopsided win in league history.

Guiao, however, sees a different Bossing side this conference.
“Blackwater has always been dangerous,” he said. “May materyales sila. ‘Yung bagong coach nila, si coach Pat [Aquino], they would want to prove themselves.
“‘Yung line-up nila, tingin ko panglaban na. Nandoon pa rin naman si [Sedrick] Barefield, Christian David. ‘Yung adjustment period ni coach Pat, medyo tapos na siya sa getting used to it phase. They will be a lot better this conference, especially if they have a good import.”
