BINAN, LAGUNA - It was a game NLEX almost gave away. But as the cliche goes, a win is still a win.

"We had a good lead almost throughout the game but we lost it in the last two or three minutes (of regulation)," said coach Yeng Guiao after the Road Warriors finally broke into the win column of the PBA Commissioner's Cup following a 120-115 victory over Phoenix in overtime on Friday night.

"That's disappointing," he added. "But after three losses we have to start somewhere. And just getting a win for us is a relief."

The Road Warriors lost their first three outings and appeared ready to fold up against the Fuel Masters after blowing a 19-point second quarter lead and being dragged into overtime.

Good thing Alex Mallari, Larry Fonacier, and JR Quinahan found their groove in the extra period to bail NLEX out of trouble.
