FOR their outburst in their recent PBA Governors Cup games, coaches Chot Reyes of Talk `N Text and Yeng Guiao of Rain or Shine got off lightly with minimal fines meted by the Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday.

Guiao was fined P4,000 for incurring his second and third technical fouls of the conference, while Reyes was penalized P2,400 for the same number of infractions.

The fiery Elasto Painters coach was ejected from their game against Meralco last Sunday following a double technical slapped on him for incessantly questioning the no-call on Rain or Shine rookie Paul Lee. The Elasto Painters won, 99-86.

Guiao apparently went unpunished for his post-game comments against what he termed as "bad" officiating.

Reyes meanwhile, was slapped a technical in the Tropang Texters’  91-94 loss to defending champion Petron Blaze on Saturday in the first ever PBA game held at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“No, that’s a small price to pay for letting the refs know my displeasure,” said Reyes in light of the fine. The Talk `N Text mentor disclosed he met with Commissioner Chito Salud and technical head Ramil Cruz on Tuesday morning, where the two admitted the referees made two glaring mistakes that led to the technical foul.

Three other personalities were also slapped with fines, namely Petron's Arwind Santos (P1,600 for a second technical foul), Ginebra assistant coach Art Dela Cruz (P1,000 for a first technical), and Rico Villanueva (P1,000 for a first technical).
